I've been reading as well. I've read some Agatha Christie, some new recipe books, gardening books, and some new books. My husband brought home My Name is Memory, a book that has to have a series in mind. I read The Help. I've got Persuasion coming up later this month.

We also just got some new Spanish books (from Spain). Our favorite is about a boy named Matias who needs to go pee but is afraid of the reyes magos catching him out of bed on the night of los reyes. My 5 year old collapses in laughter each time we read and look at the pictures.

I wish that I'd been checking in more often. We've had a summer of the Boxcar children. We've read/listened to a number of mysteries where Benny, Henry, Violet, and Jessie solve all the problems in a small village.

Hi my name is Andrew and:

This summer I have finished many books including:
All Five Percy Jackson And The Olympians
Diary of a Wimpy Kid 1, 2 and 3
A very wonderful book called Fablehaven. I have also read The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Fablehaven this summer. All summer I have been reading LOTS of series. I also completed the Teen Reading Program for the library, but I can not remember all ten books I read for that.

I have been reading all summer but I haven't been posting about it. Here is my list:
The Invisible Wall by Harry Bernstein
1984 by George Orwell
Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
and Bath Tangle by Georgette Heyer

I love reading classics! I didn't like 1984 even though many people like it. I could have gone without reading it. I really enjoyed David Copperfield. I just love how Dickens writes. I enjoyed Northanger Abbey much more the second time through and am glad I gave it another shot. I enjoyed reading Wind in the Willows too because I had watched movies about it when I was younger but hadn't read the book.

My daughter has just started reading and some of her favorites from this summer are: Fox in Socks, Bears on Wheels, Dr. Suess' ABC book, and The Little Engine that Could.

I recommend "When I was King" by Linda Ashman. This was a cute picture book about sibling rivalry and the arrival of a new baby. Both of my kids enjoyed this story. It was fun to read to them because the words have a nice rhythm and you can really put emotion into reading it. It's my favorite library find all summer!
