Well, I was going to wait until I started getting a ton of comments before I put up a contest, but I thought this journal and gift bag, designed by Anne Taintor, were so funny, I didn’t want to wait. The journal says what I think every woman wishes, and the gift bag says, “She had made yet another wise shopping decision!” Look at the girl’s face—she’s so happy! This line of products is sold at Barnes and Noble (my second home).
Here’s how the contest works: Since this is the first time I’m doing this, and I don’t have a lot of readers, I’m going to wait until I have comments from at least 25 different people. So tell your friends, and when I have enough, I’ll pull names out of a hat. That person will win both the journal and the gift bag. So good luck, and be sure to tell your friends!
First one to comment, lucky me! Your blog makes me feel hungry!!
Jaime…
I’ve spread the word about your verrrry sophisticated blog with GORGEOUS pictures.
Also…how funny in Anne Taintor. Love that woman.
I’m a friend of Brooke McLay, and your blog looks beautiful!
I hope I win the drawing!
Wow, I just found this site through Brooke and it is AMAZING! I’m so excited and have it bookmarked already! I’m off to browse and drool some more…
Howdy! I love your blog. It inspires me to try all of your recipes and buy the books. Tell Dan he did a great job with your picture, you look fabulous! Oh, just read a 10 Q & A with Stephanie Meyers in the Times. Apparently there’s an audio of it as well.
Good luck and keep this up, I’m reading!
Jaime!!! Anna directed me here, and I knew it was yours before I even read who it was because it is so YOU, and so amazing. I am excited to try some of the recipes! Are there pictures of your kids hidden on here, or do you have another blog? I would love to see you sometime.
Love, Soeur Stewart
I love it! I saw a magnet at B&N with the same picture as the journal and I went back later to buy it and couldn’t find it. I was very disappointed, because that one sentence sums up my wishes just about every single day.
Hey Jaime!
Just got this email from my friend Lori. I thought you’d like to hear…
I looked at the blog and love it! I even responded and I rarely take the time to do that! It’s so nice to know there are other moms trying to do the best in raising their children.
Love the new blog! Can’t wait to try your yummy and gorgeous looking recipes!
I really don’t ever plan on being a mom myself, but I really do like what you’re doing here Jaime. I’m almost jealous that I’m just a dude.
“I dreamed that my whole house was clean…” I LOVE that… I just had that dream and I was so happy.
Best, Your Sister, Jess
Jaime, I love your blog! I too try to have my family well read, well fed and well bred —-it just keeps me soooo busy! I’m excited to add your blog to my favorites to check for ideas and recipes.
I love your website…one of these days I am going to be a sophisticated mom and make some of these yummy looking recipes. I am definitely getting the word out on how amazing your site is.
Love the new site and contest! You are selling yourself short. As my mind drifts back to Stewart’s 1st birthday cookies I am thinking that you are the most Matha Stewartish person I know. Then I just need read the new blog and it is confirmed.
Jaime, Jaime….
You’re wonderful! You will be my kitchen muse. WWJJ (What Would Jaime Do?) Bravo! All the pictures are just beautiful too!
What a neat blog! I came on Alisa’s recommendation(sp?). WOW, i will never be as good as you.
A contest! I love it. Do I get an “in” if I write an essay, or send a recipe?? I hope so, my type A personality will go all out. Just in case, I’ll reveal my lastest trick. I use Philsbury pie crust – roll out version. I roll it out on to a pizza stone. I take any fruit I have around the house, usually peaches or apples, and I cut them up into slices. I put the fruit in the middle of the pie crust (leaving 1-2 inches of pie crust around the edge), sprinkle with sugar and add a few chunks of butter. Then, I fold up the dough at the edge, so that I leave a cirle in the middle of uncovered fruit. I wash the pie edges with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Then, I bake in the oven at 350 until the pie crust is golden. It comes out totally cute, and it’s super easy. I even make these one week nights. It’s a great way of getting rid of fruit that’s just about to go by.
Val did her job and spread the word – My husband is the chef in our family and will love to steal some of your recipes, especially the citrus pancakes (I can’t wait to have those on Sunday mornings).
Good luck with the whole contest thing – I hope Val wins
Karen

Love your blog. We are cut from the same cloth…my husband always refers to me as Ms. Manners when I insist my son say “May I be excused?” following dinner.
Alas!
