My son and I can’t tell you the name of this sandwich, because it’s adapted from a book we’ll talk about in a day or two. We will give you our version of the recipe today, though . . . then we’ll tell you about the book.
But first I just want to send my love to any of my readers who live in Japan, have loved ones there, or are connected with the devastation there in any way. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
This morning I learned of a blog that is hosting an online bake sale at the end of March. I will keep you filled in as I learn more about it.
Until then, let me tell you how we made the sandwich . . .
sandwich that is yet to be named
2 pieces of white bread
peanut butter
chocolate chips*
1/3 banana, sliced
butter, at room temperature
Preheat a panini press to low, or set a nonstick skillet over low heat. Spread peanut butter on both slices of bread. Top with chocolate chips and banana slices. Press together and spread outsides of sandwich with butter. Press inside the panini press or grill on skillet until golden brown.
*This would also be good with nutella
I know the word “yummy” isn’t all that descriptive, but it’s the only one I have in my head right now!
Sounds like a very tasty top secret sandwich. I love the filling to bread ratio in the picture!
I do the same exact thing! Except instead of bread and a panini press, I use a tortilla and a nonstick pan. The result tastes remarkably like crepes; topped with a little butter or powdered sugar makes it a delicious snack for everyone. Yumm just thinking about it makes me hungry…
You can name it peanut butter chocolate sandwich and it looks so sooo delicious, i must try it..
[...] Is Secret, is all about taste. Particularly chocolate. Which brings us to revealing the name of the secret sandwich, which we posted a few days [...]
My kids would love this!!! Super yum!
While I was in college, I would make something similar – grilled pb&j!
