I almost cried when the family assigned to bring mashed potatoes to thanksgiving dinner brought instant. Mashed potatoes are my favorite part of the meal.

Oh My Goodness! I HIGHLY suggest the Williams Sonoma potato ricer. I had also never used one, but because I am a student, I decided to get a little PT job over Christmas break and was introduced to the wonderfulness that is a potato ricer. Not just any potato ricer, but THE potato ricer. I will never make mashed potatoes without one again! I’ve been told it also works wonders when making your own baby food!

Jaime, love the mashed potatoes! Love the Charlie peeling the potatoes! We always put cream cheese in ours, and usually some spinach or kale to make colcannon, an Irish dish.

Caramelized onions sound yum on top of mashed potatoes. I like to use a large ice cream scoop to scoop the potatoes into a serving bowl. It looks nice and it’s easy for guests to serve themselves.
