I loved your family story. My irish grandma also married an Italian and her sauce was killer!! Our family lived in and around Waterbury, Connecticut. My sister's Italian hubby also makes a wonderful sauce with pepperoni, sausage, fresh tomatoes, herbs and TLC and he cooks it for 2 days....wow...it makes the best lasagna I've ever tasted. I'm also half French, but I absolutely love Italian food. Thanks for the page..nice place to visit.

Sounds fabulous. I know what you mean about those beans and rice. I still can't get mine to taste like the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans, close, but not the same. My friends mother who taught me how to make kimichi said the same thing about love being a secret ingredient to kimchi. Good food is a science and art of love.
